Small's is a very popular bar lodged in the beautiful city of Hamtramck. It is considered as one of the best rock venues by a number of magazines and critics alike. Good music. Friendly people. Nice touch having the bar having the volume down a little so you can chat in one area or dance in the other.
It was a great experience. The live bands had great sound, and the bartenders are very cool.
It's very obvious that the bar staff has a passion for what they do. I've never had a bad time at a show or club night there. Mike and Kat always make sure I feel like I'm at home, which is why the hour trip is always worth it.
I have always loved Small's, but in the last 2 years they somehow have improved even above and beyond what they had offered before. It's a clean, well set up and run establishment, and everyone from those running the door, to security, to everyone's team of attentive, prompt bar staff, I could say it was great just the way it is, but we must add in the extensive and eclectic, unique, yet consistently wonderful bands from all over the U.S. and Canada. One of my favorite venues in the D...good music, good beer, perfect size.
I love this place! It's a great venue for Rock & Roll, and I have seen some amazing acts play this place! Eagles of Death Metal, Jello Biafra, the list just goes on and on! The bartenders are fast and friendly! I wish every act I wanted to see just played Small's!
