8-19-20. This boat launch is permanently closed due to people leaving trash and debris at the site. Per Salamone park manager . 8-5-20 update. New gate on trail prevents vehicles from going down to launch. About 200' to waters edge,it can be done.It can only be called a " boat launch" by a stretch of imagination. it is however a excellent canoe launch and retrieval location. It can only be called a " boat launch" by a stretch of imagination. it is however a excellent canoe launch and retrieval location. It is the first location for pickup coming down river from Warren after Bell view dam. The DNR try to keep site graveled but flooding cause issue with mud. Highly shaded in summer with parking upper and lower lots. Our family uses this location for short trips along the Lancaster bend. FYI,there is a old abandoned gravel pit along this route.
