They were once a wonderful loving community. However, they have turned on the very people that pay their wages. How dare you take power away because of the ""homeless community"". The people that pay your wages, the power is only on because of the community that comes in there to eat and charge their phones and use their laptop's. I will not be at this co-op again unless they stop putting a particular class of citizens in a class of Shame!
Please do not discriminate against homeless an others by locking up the outlets where people can charge phones etc.
I have been visiting the SVFC for about seven years now. There were a couple of short periods of that time I was homeless. Whether or not I was homeless, I often sat upstairs charging my phone. Sometimes I was broke and didn't make a purchase. Other times I was homeless, but still scraped together my change for a cup of coffee or some groceries. I love my job / co-op / family / home ! 100% support!
Locking outlet covers to discourage unhoused people from being in a space is incredibly fucked up, shame on you.
Loved it till they put covers on the outlets now people who even buy stuff can't charge their devices. Not cool. I used to come buy food and coffee and do homework and stuff their and would charge up while doing so. Now that's no longer an option. And that's not cool. Especially because they're only doing it so that the homless community can't use whatsoever. Rude. Not even with purchase can customers use it. LOST MY BUSSINESS UNTILL THIS CHANGES. I will be informing everyone else I know who shops here as well to not shop un... read more
I have really enjoyed this coop, but the lockboxes on the outlets is a low blow to the community, especially the houseless community. I'll change my review when they change their policy.
I was told that you've locked shut the electric outlets used for charging electronic devices. It seems this places a new hardship on people who depend on being able to use your wall outlets while in your space. How does this fit into the spirit of 'cooperative'?
The only place I shop!
