Sixteen Mile House is worth a try! We have been there a few times and have always been impressed by the food. In fact, the last time we were there, it was so busy that the service was really lacking, BUT the food more than made up for it. The owner was very friendly too.
Overpriced and poor service We visited twice and the food was overpriced both times. At our 2nd visit we learned that the fantastic waiter who served us the first time was no longer working there, and we were very disappointed and a terrible loss for the restaurant. The service was unprofessional and sloppy and our steaks were poorly cooked. All in all a very disappointing followup to a great first visit. Also $49 for a ribeye with a bone in it--way overpriced to go with weak service.
Eh I was not very impressed. Ive heard that it used to be better and over the years has been going down hill. I expected much more. I had chicken marsala. VERY dry.
Not impressed It's unfortunate that I was not impressed AT all with the new, improved restaurant. The new remodel is fabulous and the ambiance is awesome. I ordered the petite prime rib (figuring the chef is formerly from House of Prime Rib in SF - it had to be delicious), the cut was very small (smaller than petite) FULL of fat and so thin, you could actually see thru the meat. Truly Sad I wish we had checked here first! We have been LONG time customers of the 16 and although we moved from the area 15 years ago, we have always felt it was worth the 75 mile drive. Having no clue that the resteraunt had been sold and remodled, image our surprise when we walked in! And to have a long time favorite server no longer be there was kind of a shock. My girlfriend and I went and got to enjoy the most wonderful steaks and drinks in very long while. My prime rib king cut was extra juicy and full of great flavors, best I've had for sure. Girlfriend had the prime steak and it was perfectly cooked and just as equally tasty. Drinks were delicious and pours were very generous. Great service amazing atmosphere our waitresses name was clair, will most certainly be coming back!
Best Steakhouse in Millbrae and Burlingame CA. This restaurant offers excellent customer service and large portions of high quality food.
