I love Dr Johnson’s conservative approach to keeping me active with as minimal invasiveness as possible! Sometimes it feels some surgeons are quick to jump you into surgery even if it isn’t the best option, so his approach really builds trust. Lydia and Megan are outstanding and complete his team in the most perfect way.
This doctor is always very friendly, smiles, and listens to you. He admits if he is not certain about something but usually has it right. I think he appreciates patients who are truly trying to take care of their health and improve themselves. Another quality I like is that he doesn't back out the door while still talking to you. He sits down and listens to you. Wonderful doctor!

This doc took the time to see my daughter in the hospital when no other Sanford neurosurgeons would answer pagers or texts on the weekend. Within 5 min of evaluation he had a nurse set up an immediate OR time. He did a shunt revision which gave nearly immediate relief for a massive headache of 11 days. Dr. R Johnson is a very pleasant Dr who likes to get all the I formation and make options avaliable so the patient has enough options to make the right choice for their life style.
My family has gone to Dr. Knutsen-Larson for years, and I highly recommend her! She is very pleasant, knowledgeable, and makes visiting the dermatologist not so dreadful.
