I had a total hip replacement procedure done. They were able to move the procedure forward on the calendar because of a cancellation and I really appreciated that. If you can say that having a surgical procedure done can be enjoyable, I would like to say that. Everything was so organized, timely, comfortable as it could be, and genuinely congenial. This was my second surgery at SFSH and both experiences were as good as it gets! My thanks to the entire team. You all are very special people!
I cannot express how much I appreciate all the staff - from checki- in time to the nurses- aides-cooks- and doctors! I was treated with respect, kindness and patience and they gave me the best care. The nursing staff listened to my concerns, made sure I understood and even took time just to visit. Usually hospitals are not fun but my stay here was is an exception! I absolutely recommend SFSH
I had an extremely unsettling experience with Dr. Dusty Thorpe during my young daughter’s scheduled dental procedure. As a mother, I came with valid questions and concerns regarding the anesthesia plan, including medication safety and whether a breathing tube was necessary for a simple capping procedure. Instead of answering my questions respectfully, Dr. Thorpe was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I cannot say enough good stuff about this hospital! I have visited friends in other hospitals and I have been very impressed with Sioux Falls in the year and a half I have been here. I had to have a knee replacement surgery through Orthopedic Institute, out of Tea, South Dakota and my doctor went through Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital. The whole experience was fantastic!
