DO NOT take your pets to Singing Scissors. My Maltese dog was killed at this facilty, by the owners two Siberian Huskies. After being there for 8 hours, we went at 5:00 to pick him up to find out he still wasn't groomed, they were still working on him. We watched in horror as they set my little 4 pound Maltese on the floor where their own huge huskies were and watched as they tore my baby apart. There truly was nothing left of him. We still scooped him up and drove to the emergency room where they euthanized him so that he w... read more

Did you know that each State in the US has their own official reptile based upon the reptiles found within the region? Many southern states have alligators and snakes, while northern states have varieties of turtles.

Birds are one of the most intelligent pets out there, which make them a great companion. Once they bond with their owners, they’ll constantly be watching and learning from their behavior. Don’t be surprised to one day find your bird doing everything you do.

One of the biggest mistakes new fish owners make is to feed their pets too frequently or two much. This is one instance in which less is more. Two feedings a day is plenty. Experiment with portion sizes, too. If there's food left in the tank after five minutes or so, cut back next time.

Don’t forget about toys when you’re outfitting your new bird’s cage. Parrots in particular need lots of stimulation and things that they can chew up and destroy. Your pet store will have a wide range of ropes, swings, and other items.

When we think of the tropics, one of the first things we think of is the bright colors of tropical fish. For most tropical species, it's a good idea to keep them in schools of five or more, which also helps bring out their eye-catching colors.

You can increase your pet bird’s intelligence when you take him with you! Take him by cage or carrier with you in your car or to the park or on a road trip! Doing so can actually make you and your pet bird closer and all the while stimulating deeper brain waves.

While a pet reptile may be very inexpensive, you will need an appropriate enclosure, heating/lighting equipment, and cleaning equipment, as well as a supply of food. The reptile expert at the pet shop can help you get a good idea of the total cost.

There is one fish you won’t find in our store, and that is the biggest fish in the world: the giant whale shark. These behemoths can grow to 60 feet long and weigh more than 25 tons, but they only eat plankton.
