Northwest Sewing Center is probably my favorite store for sewing machines, accessories, classes and learning. I’ve probably been going there for about 10 years and I recommend them all the time. The owner, Mary is not only a lovely person, but knowledgeable and attentive. I have had some parts that were hard to figure out, but she spent the time to find out how to get them and what they were. All of the staff are just as friendly and knowledgeable. I took the sewing 101 class with Louise and it was amazing! She is so thorough and made me feel confident operating my machine. Louise offered hands on assistance, had knowledge of all different sewing machines, and everyone left feeling successful after sewing their own project! I definitely recommend her classes- I’ve already signed up for the next!

Took a series of sewing classes here with Louise and it was great. Learned a lot and alongside a great community. The shop itself has a lot of what you’ll need to get started in the world of sewing. Only complaint I have is parking! But I’d probably say that for most of our city unfortunately. Look forward to learning more about sewing from Louise! Shop local.

What would we do without Northwest Sewing Center? Repairs, new machines you can touch and feel, notions and supplies of all kinds, fabric, and of course, friendly faces ready to help. Grateful to have them in Austin. Took a fun class with Louisa here, and very happy with the results.
