So, I tried to replace my water heater on my own. Unless you are actually know what you are doing, this is an awful idea. I called Sin City Plumbing, since I had seen them around my neighborhood. They sent Phil, who showed up and showed me everything I did wrong (including buying the wrong water heater, which is embarrassing). Not only did he do a clean and great job, he had to clean up the wet mess that I had made trying to fix it myself. These people were great. Had a minor plumbing problem on a Sunday and they came out a fixed it without charging through the roof. Highly recommended.
