I had a tonsillectomy performed by Dr. Schalch last year in July, 2024. It was the best thing I could have done. I have healed super well and it wasn’t as painful as I would have imagined. I saw Dr. Schalch for 2 years in his clinic and at UCSD. I was always treated super well by his staff and felt heard about my concerns. Before surgery, I was treated prior with laser treatments to reduce my tonsils and begin with minimally invasive methods. Excellent overall experience!
I'm a physician with acute refractory rhinosinusitis, with decades of no medical history otherwise. I came to an ENT for their ability to do cultures that urgent care and PCP can't. Instead I get a 3D scan, and a memorized presentation by a PA who tells me I need multiple surgical interventions on my sinuses and turbinates (for a one time cold??). No antibiotic prescription, had to push for them to do a sinus culture. truly bizarre and bad treatment. Despite filling out a long form and answering redundant questions on two mo... read more
