Good food, bad service – I guess I neglected to read the word "bar" in the name, "Sidebar". Unless you want to meet friends to drink beer, smoke cigarettes (there seems to always be a cigarette smoker impairing the taste of your spicy mozzarella sticks), and play trivia games, there is really no reason to visit Sidebar. SideBar – This is the place to be! A great meeting and sports game place to go. The food is great.. authentic and original...a must to try!
great for happy hour – We've taken to hitting up SideBar after work some days to play trivia and have a drink. Upstairs is kind of dark and closed-in but downstairs is like a special secret hide out. With pool and basketball and large booths for groups this place is great. And they have electronic trivia that starts every 30 minutes and free consoles so anyone can play. Not much in the area to compete with, but its not bad – A decent hole-in-the-wall with food that is utilitarian, at best. Great for people who are staying at hotels on Marietta street, as there is not much nightlife in this area.
Go to hang out and have a great time... not to get a quick buzz. – The one and only bad thing I can say about this bar is that the service is slow... but that's mostly because there are so many people haning out there... it's a college bar... no, it's a sports bar... no it's a professional's bar... no, it's.... it's... it's... a downtown playground – this place has it all! Pool, air hockey, trivia, video poker, and GALLAGA! 12 dollar buckets of bud and party kegs available. The owner's are really nice guys too. The bartenders are good, just sometimes a little slow. Overall, it's a great place to hang after work or a good destination spot for you and your buddies!
