RecommendedI brought my parents up to Bar Harbor for a little family getaway, today we were walking around downtown and we were looking for a place to eat. We came across Side Street, (after a local worker at a store had agreed it was a great pick) and decided to check it out, and let me tell you I’m so glad we did! 8:35 on a Friday night, plenty of people around town and in the restaurant. As the hostess was gathering menus to seat us, a woman came over to say, “sorry guys we closed the kitchen at 8:30”. Even though, it’s posted in multiple places on online, Friday and Saturday closes @9:00. There was no response other than sorry. We’ve been here a few times before. The food is good, too bad the costumer service is terrible!!
Just a great comfortable atmosphere and really great food. The menu has something for everyone. I have always felt like I got a good value for my money. That’s a tough order to fill in the heart of a tourist area. It speaks to the genuine desire of the owners to have more than satisfied clients. I can count on being in the group every time I enjoy a meal here.

Seriously killer fries - we got a “table order” of fries and shared them between the 3 of us and was keeping us wanting more with the mouth watering seasonings on there skin on fresh potatoes - our lunches came to us looking fresh and innovative and didn’t disappoint once we devoured them - highly recommend this joint if your in the area or even want to take a little road trip for a nice lunch - sign in window says open 7 Days :-) The Downing’s
