This is a fantastic shop. The service is personal and unhurried. On more than one occasion I have had the proprietor demonstrate "how-to." She spends time on helping select the right yarn for a project and has very good suggestions. She has never steered me in the wrong direction. I will definitely continue to shop here!
Visited from out of town....was totally ignored – I visited this shop twice. The first time I walked through the door and was quickly told that they were closing. Umm ok...I get that...could have been a little nicer about it but whatever. On my next trip to town I decided to go by the shop again. Wandered all over the store and was totally ignored. Then when I asked about the price of a skein of yarn was gruffly told that there are price lists hanging all over the store and I could consult one of those. Nope..not the custome... read more
Great service, but kind of messy! – I love this store! Yes, as some people have mentioned, it's sort of run down looking on the outside. And yes, the yarn's a mess. However, Carol, the owner, more than makes up for it! She is someone who truly loves to knit and wants to share her knowledge. I bought yarn for a baby hat and she sat with me for over an hour helping me! She encouraged me to come back with questions, and I did. Also, while the yarn in the store is messy, she knows exactly where everything is and can find it for ... read more
messiest store ever – This store is in an extremely dilapidated old house that smells of mildew. The rooms are so crowded with junk that you cannot find anything your might be looking for. The weaving looms and spinning wheels are just randomly scattered around the place. I won't ever go back to this messy, smelly store. Absolutely terrible!
Don't bother – Hope the lady working on Saturday afternoon was only weekend help. NO customer service; however, the yarn selection is awesome.
Great for Yarn, not for Lessons – A free knitting lesson came with the yarn and needles, but the instructor was very short with me when I didn't catch on right away. Plus she kept just TELLING me what to do, and didn't DEMONSTRATE what to do with her own needles. I'm a visual person and the fact that she kept barking out commands at me, for instance, "Put the yarn BEHIND the needle", was very confusing and unhelpful. She kept repeating, "No, BEHIND the needle. BEHIND the needle." I obviously wasn't catching on and she should... read more
Most helpful service I ever received – I just received FANTASTIC service at this store. I went in few days ago to purchase some needles with which to make socks. The owner sold me the needles, and told me that if I had any trouble, just come and see her. Yesterday, I was there for about 2 hours getting a private lesson on these socks. I couldn't believe it!! She couldn't have been sweeter. While I was there, her associate helped another customer with her knitting as well. When Carol, the owner finished helping me, she encour... read more
NOT recommended for young knitters! VERY UNFRIENDLY! – I have gone into this shop once before and wasn't impressed then, when as a new, younger knitter I was looking for a little help and needles. I know this isn't a teaching class but the owner was not helpful and a little condescending. Yesterday I went in to get a 12 inch circular needle(Michaels and AC Moore don't have 12 inch circulars) to help me make baby hats a little more easier than having to use DPNs. Another lady was there helping out while the owner was away and... read more
A hidden treasure in Cary! – An absolutely wonderful store! Just the selection alone makes them WAY above exceptional. They have yarn you didn't even know exsisted! And in any color you can think of. Not only is the stock unbeatable, they go out of their way to help you. I cannot count how many times I've gone in to look for yarn and one of the friendly and knowledgable staff is helping someone learn a new technique. There are beautifully created ideas throughout the store, from bags to hats and sweaters. If you are in to an... read more
