I've never been to Dallas before this short trip, so I can't speak to the general cuisine of the area, but I can say that Shug's is an absolutely amazing spot. These bagels blew away my expectations for a Texas bagel, and they would put up a fair fight against some of your go-tos in the Northeast. Would a hard and true New Yorker with unwavering opinions about bagels feel the same way? Probably not, but they also aren't the best bagel adjudicators.
