Dave and the rest of the guys are far and above other local establishments. I have purchased many items since 2009 and always enjoyed their conversations. I have witnessed many folks coming in and wanting immediate service to the point of interrupting conversations. I will always give my business to these folks before venturing to another business. They are experts in their field.
Not very accessible. – NOT wheelchair accessible. Very narrow isles. Dogs under wheels and no one willing to control their animals. Prices are reasonable(ish) but their selection of ammunition is minimal at best. I believe in customer feedback and reviews but I also believe in arriving at my own conclusions too. If you're able bodied and on a budget then this is the place for you. Very "no frills" establishment for the self service clientele.
Rude, Slow, Horrible Customer Service – Why do I have to give them one star? They don't even deserve that! I left a pistol here for cleaning back in October of 2010. They promised to complete the job sometime in "November;" they didn't. In fact, I didn't even hear from them in November or through the first 3 weeks of December. I happened to be in the neighborhood in late December, so I figured I'd drop in - thinking that my gun must have been ready for pickup by then; it wasn't. After waiting for nearly 30 minutes (while the... read more
Best little gun shop in Littleton – The shop may be small, but Dave and his crew know what they're doing. I brought in my Dad's shotgun, and the gunsmith only asked that we leave a tip for what we thought the work was worth. They helped me out in more ways than one and I would not hesitate to recommend this shop to anyone. Shootin Shop South is the only store I will make my gun purchases at from now on.
Not Happy – Was in looking for a very simple Item. The person behind the counter was rude the entire time. I had researched prices at many shops in the area and had a good idea of a reasonable cost. He gave me two silly high quotes. By the time he made a comment on my age, I was about ready to leave for sure. I guess their only there for the people who know exactly what they want and don't mind giving a TIP to him. Not a good idea in this economy.
Not pleased – Went in for a magazine spring retainer for my Remington 870 shotgun. Charged me $7.95 for the piece of plastic. Yikes! Shame on me for not internet shopping. I seemed to be a bit of a nuisance to him. He preferred to answer all the phone calls in between helping me. What should have taken 2 minutes strung out to over 15 minutes. As others came into the shop he helped them too. Then, after I bought the part, I got chewed out for putting the part in the 870 while I was there. Just wanted to make sure it would fit... read more
Experience and customer service – This great American store is my favorite! The experience of the owner and the staff is unmatched. These guys are experts at everything outdoors. The product selection can outfit just about anyone's needs; camping, hiking, hunting, gun collecting and the the absolute latest in combat pistols, rifles and optics. I like the selection in the store and I like the selection online too; I have never seen so many thumbnails of firearms and products on a single web-site. The product and technique adv... read more
Calling it like it is... – When I'm in a pinch, I used to go to the Shootin' Shop South and they could generally help me out. I recently went there to have their gunsmith certify my Kimber .45 so I could use it to qualify for the Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) course. The gunsmith REFUSED to even look at the firearm or sign off on the form required by the state of Colorado. He stated "...there is too much liability by me signing that." News flash...as a gunsmith every time you touch someone's firearm there is liab... read more
What a place! – What a gem in the world of big box stores. The people are knowledgable and won't give you any false information. The gun smith is the best there is. He can repair it if it is possible. This is the only place to get some of the merchandise that you can't find anywhere else. Hats of to Shootin' Shop
