Why are so many Asian restaurants fusions instead of mastering one cuisine? Maybe I’m spoiled from living in Europe and other parts of the USA, but Shokudo is another jack of all trades, king of none. The Pad Thai was heavy on sour sauce, light on noodles, with bamboo that had a surprisingly strong pungent flavor which made me wonder if it was fresh. I love their special salmon nigiris.
This is my fav sushi spot and one of my fav spots in Miami. Food is quality and gives an authentic take on signature pieces. My FAVORITE picks that I always order when I go no matter what : 1. Crunchy sushi (chef’s kiss), chicken potstickers 🥟 (chef’s kiss twice), jalepeño hamachi roll with rice paper (the rice paper replaces the seaweed and allows you to enjoy more of the flavors). Attentive and friendly staff make it a space that feels like your friends home.
