I stayed in Shodair's psychiatric unit for about nine days when I was thirteen. (I'm 14 now, so I have a good memory of this time, and I'm not here to place a bad review on it for fun.) a day would look like this: -Mornings: Wake up at 7:00, 7:30, Hygiene is hard to do because they're so understaffed and hygiene was locked (just like any other psychiatric unit) but staff would often refuse to open it during hygiene time. you are told to shower Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but staff hardly let you because they're tired... read more

My nephew has been sent here twice now. He has mental issues and has tried to commit suicide on 4 different occasions. The first time he was sent here, he seemed to be doing well; other than they do try and just overmedicate the kids. He was there for just a little over a month with no diagnosis and they discharged him because they couldn't deal with him...... A teenager who is in desperate need of help. how can you be a facility that offers care for children but not offer counseling sessions outsude of school hours?

I was there twice as a kid. once downtown and once when it started at the old bowling alley it's at now. drugs was their answers. over medicated me on lithium. took years to get over the side effects.

I do not recommend this place at all. I went there twice as a child. BOTH times they OVERDOSE me with 3 medications. I was basically a zombies and couldn't function at all. AND THEY WHERE FINE WITH THAT! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!
