I'm from Nevada and was visiting family in Fort Wayne. We were on the way to the airport and decided to try something new. Great service, friendly and helpful staff, and the food was outstanding. I know my local family will definitely be stopping back.
One of the best BBQ joints in the Midwest..... Hands down !!!!
This is hands down the best barbecue I've had outside of Memphis.
My favorite place to eat. Always delicious and affordable!
Must say I was disappointed all the way around. Wasn't expecting to have to serve myself, or use plastic silverware. More of a cafeteria than a restaurant. Ribs were all right but have had better. Servings were small and the mac and cheese had too many green chiles. Will I be back? Doubtful.
Last I week I gave this place a bad review because of the food quality. The manger promptly contacted me with an apology, and asked for another chance. So I got the Big Shig platter today, and it was delicious, and everything was perfect. I especially loved the jalapeño sausage, and the spoon corn is always off the hook. The ribs and brisket were very tender, and the chicken had a very good smoke flavor. Two thumbs up!
I was in Fort Wayne for the week working. So I did some searching for off the beaten path food... Well I came across Shigs and Pit .. mmmm sounds good .. I ventured my way with gps in a rainstorm and low and behold a wonderful smelly good place.... My food was hot prompt and staff was awesome .. I told the gentleman my first time here and he asked if I would like a dessert .. sure .. banana pudding to die for.. spoon bread to die for, brisket to die for, pulled pork to die for .. I made my meal last me 2 full days .. ty for ... read more
Having just moved here I asked around for BBQ recommendations as its one of my favorite kinds of food. The sides, prices, and pulled pork was decent. The sauces were so so. However the ribs were VERY fatty and the "burnt ends" (typically a tender meat) were extremely hard to chew and inedible. Someone needs to remind them that if they're going to use crappy cuts of meat they need to cook it longer. I'm used to KC barbecue so this is nothing like home and I don't think I'll come back frequently or recommend it to others. Ther... read more
