Paul started back in 1980 as an apprentice learning traditional English style French Polishing using traditional Shellac brushes and rubbers. From there he has progressed to apply a modern style of furniture finishing to his works by using modern lacquer finishes. We cover all types of Restoration. From a sentimental piece that has a place in your heart, right through to large commercial work, and everything in between.

Cannot recommend Paul and Mitch at sherwood polishing enough! They are exceptional at what they do and are always a pleasure to deal with. The work and finished product they achieve is unbelievable. Thanks again fellas!
Mitch restored these for me. They were my grandmother’s and we’d ruined them. Mum was broken hearted. Now she is ecstatic. Mitch and his Dad know their stuff. Some beautifully restored work in the shed when I visited. They are passionate about timber and it shows. Mitch’s communication and customer service cannot be faulted.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting Paul & Mitch Sherwood regarding a restoration project I had. I chose them after reading reviews, much like what I am doing now. The chair was in 3-4 pieces when it should have been 2 but that didn't seem a problem to them. I left instructions that it could be a 2-3 month project as I wasn't in hurry for it & felt a tad guilty but just lobbing at the factory door with it. Mitch and his team repaired our mid century timber lounge frame and did fantastic job at a reasonable price, i highly recommend them
I had the pleasure of working with Mitchell and Paul, the father and son team at Sherwood Polishing, and they truly exceeded my expectations. They've restored two pieces of furniture for me so far, and each time has been excellent. During my recent experience, I brought them a table I had purchased from a store that wasn't treated correctly.
