Made some good friends but ended up coming out worse than I did when I went in. My room had no lights for a few days and the staff weren‘t very good. I hated the rules for calling family/visitation and overall the atmosphere was just very depressing.
The staff was 50/50, some of them are very kind and helpful but some other ones are pretty rude. The unit itself is ok, but it is extremely boring unless you have someone bring you something to do. They have puzzles, cards, and games but most of them are missing pieces so they are unusable. I was able to meet some nice patients that I talked to. The adult crisis area was really well run. The unit they found for me was more for psychotic crises than depressive ones and my healing took a backseat to surviving the violence of the psychotic clients. Plus being pregnant and their insane rules about juice and snacks made me lose weight at a clip. I threw up 3+ times a day when prior I had all my nausea well controlled with just snacking and juice. Don't go if you are experiencing SI while pregnant, I don't think they understand the different needs for gestating women.
