My experience with Shen Mental Health and Wellness was disappointing and, ultimately, very uncomfortable. During my appointments, I felt that the male doctor was more interested in talking at me than listening to and understanding what I was actually experiencing. Absolutely do not go here if you're in recovery (I got clean in 2009 and had a 6 month relapse in 2021). This guy completely hyper focusing on past substance abuse and stigmatizing people with a history. I also have reason to believe (because he said it to me in these words) that he's "cooking the books" regarding Medicaid billing. If you want to be talked at for an hour and him call it "therapy" go for it. I almost walked out every appointment and this time I finally did.
