Best place for rehab. My Mom got the best treatment ever she wasn’t move on her own now, she able to walk and Dress on her own. All the staff was so welcoming ant so respectful to Us. I will absolutely recommend sheltering arms to anyone who needs help to get back to do anything on their own. Thank you so very much for all the good health food my Mon and I was getting. The first night my Mother was at the Short Pump location, after after being released from the hospital, Mom called me in breathing distress and was unable to locate her call bell. I called the Nurses station multiple times with no answer. (We were advised we can call anytime night or day) Frantic and hearing Mom's unsteady breathing on the phone, I had no choice than to call 911 to get her help. My mom was on the third floor of Sheltering Arms in Short Pump from October 28–November 11, 2025. We had a serious issue with a nurse named Joann. On or about October 30th, she walked in on her cell phone and said, “Oh good God,” which was unprofessional and offensive. My mom has swallowing issues from her stroke, yet Joann tried to give her multiple pills at once and moved the cup toward her too fast. I was an inpatient there for 11 days with a broken ankle. I couldn't walk at all. Everyone was so nice to me! The doctors, nurses, nursing techs, and the therapists were simply wonderful. The facility is top notch, too. I totally recommend Sheltering Arms Institute! Simply first rate!
