Our HOA is in a dispute with them. A homeowner was forced to pay $5000 out of pocket to prevent our water being shut off. After months of back and forth, she still has not been fully reimbursed.
We are happy with our home, but the post-sale support has been very disappointing. We submitted several warranty requests nearly six months ago, and many remain unresolved. We have received very little communication, no meaningful updates, and there is no dedicated point of contact available to help us understand the status of our requests or move them forward. Purchased a condo in Seattle built by Shelter Homes earlier 2026. Extremely disappointed with the developer for stonewalling us on unresolved issues. The developer was required to install 13 bike racks throughout our community before handing over management to our HOA, including some private bike racks for residents. Bought a home from Shelter Homes in mid-March 2026. While we're mostly pleased with the product, the bike rack mentioned in the paperwork had not been installed upon move-in. When we brought up this issue, they installed a bike rack but in the wrong location and mishandled the installation. It's drilled into the pavers which anyone could move and therefore steal our bikes. No one else in our community also has back racks, which is frustrating when the other nearby communities do. 38 years in construction, and as construction practices, and quality go; the Ballard project is one of the worst I have ever seen. I wouldn't trust shelter homes with a plug nickel.
