Amazing seafood this is really a hidden jewel for New Haven dining. The view is breathtaking looking into the harbor we also had excellent service which made the experience an A+
Loved last nights experience at Shell and Bones. We arrived around 430 and scored amazing seats at the bar. We loved the ambiance and of course the view! We felt like we were on vacation - chatting with people and observing people enjoying their lobster and other gourmet goodies! We had some great IPAs, the calamari (dipping sauce spectacular), shrimp cocktail (super fresh) and oyster rockerfeller (decadent)! The bartenders were so friendly, happy and on point also. We will be back!
The service was subpar. It took almost 20 minutes to get a drink at the bar, the bartender seemed bothered and lackadaisical about helping a full bar of people. Our wait for a table was almost 45 minutes, yet there were several open tables in the restaurant, however they said they were all reserved for later times. ???? The food was... Okay. I've had two extraordinary meals here. One, a dinner for the 10th anniversary of our first date, and two, a brunch for Mother's Day. Both meals were amazing. Things not to miss: the oysters, the Moscow Mule, the scallops, the chicken liver spread, the soft egg asparagus salad, the tuna tartare, and the chowder-style co. Food A+ service c atmosphere .... Soulless... Just... The view was spectacular , but as my wife and I looked around not one person in a full restaurant was smiling .... Just an uptight pretentious ( Look at me) kind of place. A little disappointed ...
Delightful meal! Every course delicious. Freshest oysters and the best bouillabaisse of my life! Delicious! I love the atmosphere and the friendly service. We were also greeted personally by the chef, whom we watched personally inspecting every dish that left his kitchen! Keep it up!!!!
