A landmark in South Beach, the Shelborne hosts dozens of parties during WMC.
Okay so here's the deal. Some rooms will never be renovated because they are owned like condos, even "suites." ASK FOR A RENOVATED ROOM. I'm stuck bc they're oversold with Art Basel.
Renovations are definitely NOT finished. It is Art Basel--December 2012--and my "suite" is old as sin with many issues. Also, that wet dog smell. Yes, that chair is broken.
Lobby is nice, but you get what you pay for in the rooms. Beds are awful, smells like dog.

Very nice hotel and it's not crazy expensive like some of the hotels on SOBE
Try the wings by the pool or the NY Strip at Vespa. Pool party on Saturdays are also good...
Hotel is old as dirt, but it's cheap, the staff is friendly and the pool area is beautiful!
