As a townhouse owner being forced by my HOA to work with Ashley Goedert of Sharper Management was...not only extremely costly...it was one of the most infuriating, frustrating, exasperating experiences of my life! I contacted Sharper Management with a simple water leak in my ceiling. Almost eleven months later, they have ran up over $22,000 in repair (billed to me), tore down (without my consent) and rebuilt my deck (which turned out to have nothing to do with the leak) and badly misdiagnosed the problem a second time. Almost a year later we still don't know if the leak has been fixed (and won't until the heavy Spring rains come). Yet they demanded payment of 90% of the $20,000+ repair bill they ran up (even in the middle of the Covid-19 crisis). They are extremely adversarial in their tone. The very first invoice they sent me referenced threats of penalties and bill collectors. And as things progressed, it seemed like they were anxious to engage in litigation. (I'm guessing because the HOA by-laws were so one-sided in the HOA's favor that they knew that initiating legal action would likely be cost prohibitive and with little chance of the plaintiff coming out ahead). They made absolutely no effort to be responsive to my concerns or engage in any constructive discussion of relevant issues. They refused to even acknowledge...much less discuss...the vast majority of the valid issues that I raised, refused to acknowledge...much less accept any accountability for...their endless parade of mistakes, and rejected without explanation every suggestion I made to try to reach a reasonable fair and equitable resolution. The HOA bylaws and the repair process they required (which lacked any reasonable controls or checks and balances, built in huge conflicts of interest and is ripe for abuse and fraud) essentially stripped the homeowners of their rights and provided no viable economic or legal recourse. The combination of arrogance and incompetence in which they conducted themselves was absolutely mind boggling. I cannot possibly over state the disdain with which I hold them in! I will never consider buying another property that they manage and would strongly discourage you from as well.

Stay away from Sharper. They charge high HOA dues and do nothing for their clients. They are not well versed in the governing documents or the law for the properties they manage. They don’t get multiple bids they say they rely on industry standards. Example: they claimed it would cost up to $90,000 to add for 10 feet of heat coils, which is laughable. I know more from taking one Property Management course in college than these guys. CHOOSE ANYONE ELSE BUT SHARPER!
