do not book with Richelle for a Deva – I was so excited, just to be let down. I loved the Curly Girl book, it changed my curls life! I did some research and was extremely excited to learn Shapes Salon offered the product line & Deva Cut!! I read reviews and Julia McBride had received the best but she was booked for 2 months. I wish I had a better experiance – I am back in Denver after living in Seattle for 10ish years. Although salon pricing is less expensive in the Denver area, it seems the overall salon experience is not what I have come to expect. The stylist at Shapes did a nice highlight without the striped look I can't stand, and the esthetician did a great job on my brows. Mary Veraldo does it all! – Mary is extremely talented in all areas. She makes everyone look the best they can. As a colorist she is exceptional because she paints and understands color from an artists point of view. It comes to her naturally!! She does Deva cuts, straight cuts, razor cuts, you name it. And her updos are devine!! They have a new makeup line at the salon, UltraPure Cosmetics, which I use. It is all natural mineral makeup and I love it! Mary also does makeup applications to make you look marvelous!!
The Mahvelous Mary Veraldo... – Mary was recommended to me by a friend over 2 years ago. She is far and away the BEST hair stylist I've ever had! We've been through about a thousand colors on my hair and each and every one has been simply amazing. Incredible cut & color!!!!!!! Megan is the best!!! – I have curly hair and have always had a hard time finding someone to cut it where it didn't look all choppy. Megan curly hair EXPERT!! – I went to Shapes Salon because I found them in the westword. I have NEVER had a good hair cut anywhere. My hair is very curly and unmanagable. Best Haircut Ever for Curly Girl – RIchelle gave me the best haircut of my life! I have never had so many positive comments about my hair - ever. It's difficult and different to cut really curly hair and Richelle is amazing. She really knows her craft. I highly recommend Shapes Salon and Richelle.
Don't Mix the Julias! – I get my hair done at Shapes (I'm a curly girl) and accidentally made an appointment with the wrong Julia. The other Julie seems great, but Julia McBride is the one who is the specialist with curly hair. This REALLY MATTERS because not all the girls there can cut curly hair. MAKE SURE you get Julia McBride if you want a curly hair cut. I ended up waiting for an appointment with the right Julie, so it all worked out, but you have to be careful, because they don't do the same cuts!
