I booked a lymphatic drainage facial expecting a gentle treatment, but the massage felt surprisingly aggressive, almost like slapping motions at times. I experienced facial swelling afterward that took a couple of weeks to fully resolve. Since the appointment, I’ve learned that lymphatic drainage is generally meant to use very light pressure, which made this experience feel concerning to me. I’m sharing this so others, especially people with sensitive skin, can ask more questions about the technique beforehand.
