Check Google for more honest reviews. Shanti has a 2.5 rating on Google! My experience was okay at best. I liked that my counselor was using techniques that helped me recognize my automatic thoughts and how to combat them, but if we weren't reading out of a self-help book the sessions were useless. When trying to talk about my every day struggles I was interrupted multiple times by the counselor so she could talk about her experience or criticize my actions. I've never met a counselor who was so quick to pass judgement. My s... read more
I just started yesterday and Helen was my counselor. She is very nice and straight forward. She really help me feel at home when I first entered her room I was very nervous because I hadn’t talk to anyone in almost a year. Whenever I walked in shanti front desk offer me tea or water which I thought was different than any clinic I’ve been too! I really enjoyed my hour I spent there and I can’t wait to start hammock therapy in the fall.
I did enjoy the class but for the amount of people we had for that session it was extremely crowded. No room to actually stretch and do the poses without getting into someone's space. I really hope they plan on expanding the yoga room.
Shanti Yoga is a wonderful facility! Beautifully decorated, always extremely clean, and very organized. The entire staff always take those extra little steps to make you feel very welcome as a newbie (even when you ask silly questions lol). Between the staff and other students you feel like part of the family from the moment you walk through the doors. Instruction is top notch with a variety of classes available and great schedule. The counseling staff is equally wonderful. I worked with Helen for about 10 months and I’m kic... read more
When I first walked into Shanti Yoga and Counseling a year and a half ago, I entered with misconceptions. I believed that you had to be skinny and fit to do yoga. I was too intimidated to start. I thought that people would judge me because I was overweight. Fortunately, I was wrong. The staff was warm and friendly. And it is because of the encouraging environment that I continue to practice. I am proud to say that I have lost 22 lbs and kept it off by going to yoga at least 3 times a week.
