We're over here from the UK and having visited two years ago, we had to come back. Just as last time, great food and friendly service even though it was heaving with customers. We were told that the wait was about an hour but it's not surprising as it's popular. My daughter said hers was the best burger she's ever had. And she's had a few! We love this place and will be back next time.

My husband and I usually go to Shagger Jacks every year on vacation. We stopped by last night and the food and service were wonderful! They were extremely busy and there was a wait list when we got there, but because there were only two of us, they asked if we wanted to sit at the bar. We said "sure" and were seated right away. Got there and was told 45 min wait which was ok on a busy night. So, my wife and one child stayed while I and two other kids made a quick run to Food Lion. 15 mintues later wife called and said we are being seated. My family and I went to Shagger Jacks for the first time ever this week. It was amazing! The place was busy but we were seated quickly (less than 10 min) out group was 6 adults and 2 kids. We were set outside but the fans and the shade felt great. I ordered the crab legs and they were exactly what I was craving. My father ordered the crab cakes and he swears they're the best he's ever had! I eat a lot of seafood and o would put this place in my top 5 places I've ate. Been here many times - food is always great, as is the friendly and attentive service. The owner is always willing to stop and say Hi. Dog friendly patio. Gets really busy - probably due to a local reputation. Highly recommended! Gift certificates are available.
Crab cakes are the best. Shrimp and grits are pretty good as well.
The best shrimp & grits I have ever had! Shrimp tacos amazing as well.
