I had a nice size sailing ship on the water with a rose below the water a few years ago.I gave the artist a picture to go by the ship was on a crisp blue ocean.on the first visit he did the outline work and on the second visit he did the colors. Well at the end he was a great artist but he made all the water BLACK I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. FOR YEARS THIS HAS BOTHERED ME. So all I can say is go over every color decision before you let them go to work on you
