Will definitely shop around for a title company next time. Process was fraught with errors. Poor communications, expectation that customer understand the language, errors in transmitting documents, added charges at closing listed as optional without explanation, no service recovery. Note that positive reviews are from real estate agents who typically recommend to clients. I’m an actual client.
I would not recommend Settlement Engine to handle title insurance or closing. They may work well for real estate agents, but not for the buyers. If you are not an experienced homeowner with mortgage knowledge, beware. Our recent interaction on our 6th home purchase was filled with miscommunications, errors, and unprofessionalism. Shop around.
