GREAT Place for Private Party or Shower – Just had a TERRIFIC experience at Session 73. Rented out the lounge for a private party.We had the Whole place to ourselves(12-4)for our 50 people.They normally don't open till after 4. Awesome lounge atmosphere.Have great choices of music(JAZZ, FUNK,ANYTHING...).Food was surprisingly VERY good.Buffet Lunch.Drinks were flowing.Food was replenished. Definately a saugage fest! – Very Nice place but way too many guys, all dressed the same I must say. Ratio is like 10:1. So imagine being one of 2 girls trapped in a bar with 20 drunk horny dudes. Not a pretty picture. Drinks are cool. Food is good. Music is ok, if you're into the live band thing. You might be better off going one block over into Hi-Life. Get the same quality food and drink plus better music selection from their DJ.
Nothing Special – Crowded due to poor layout, no decor, "jazz" music barely noticeable. However, a good place if you want to be oggled by random (and forward) guys....
Tough to categorize – This bar is tough to categorize. I've been there on a few occasions. Sometimes, there is live jazz, sometimes there is hip-hop, other times rock. They really haven't found their crowd and unfortunately, some nights its fun and other times its not. Cheese Factory – If you want to go to a place where every guy is wearing a blue shirt this is the place for you. Bad crowd, bad music. I will never go back.
A bit sad, really. – Was here on a Thursday night to hear a band for my wedding. Service and drinks were blah, food was surprisingly quite good, and the music was loud but good. The real kicker was the crowd. I thought that these frat boy, 35 going on 25 types were relegated to Brother Jimmy's and The Parlour a long time ago. Sometimes, I looked around and just felt sad that the very embodiment of the UES thrives in such a place, which seems a caricature of itself. And the pints for your beer? PLASTIC. I smell a... – Sausage party. I'm a girl and this bothered me, so you have to imagine. Flash backs of horrendous frat parties at my yup yup college, except I'm not crammed into a basement lit only by a black light. Almost as bad though. I live in the neighborhood, so I walk by often, only to see like 20 guys in button down shirts lined up waiting to get in.
Hit it!!! – Sessions is one of the places on the upper east side that provides tunes that rival that of the downtown scene. Although catering to different crowd, this is great place to meet with friends and kick back and just listen.
great live music – Went to see a friend's band play...and loved the place! Great atmosphere and not snobby or anything at all. A good time!
