Do not Host a Party unless you do a drink special – I had my birthday party there, and could not get a drink special. The manager tried to offer us the open bar option and tables, but the problem was we would have to order the drinks from the waitress. This bar does not get crowded until at least 11 - 12. So having 25 people sit at tables and ordering open bar through 1 or 2 waitresses when the bar top was EMPTY did not make sense to me. Go on Monday for Salsa – Monday nights this is the place to be if you like live music & salsa. It is one of the few places I've seen beginners and pros alike feel at home. It was so packed last time you would think it was the weekend! The only con is that is does get pretty crowded as the night goes on but there are two areas to dance and I never felt overwhelmed by the number of people there. Prices are reasonable and the crowd is friendly - sometimes that's hard to find in the city.
Good Mix of People – I've been to Session 73 a few times and each time I went there was a differnt crowd and a different feel--which is nice because you wont get bored. The live music is good (sometimes) and there food (if you feel like noshing) is even better. It's worth checking out. Best time to go is Thur through Sat.
That's HOT! – I dippped into the Session on a Friday night. The band was ON. Chicks were hot. Booze was flowin'. This boy that I really like was there -- like I didn't even try to stalk him, he was just there!!! I was so excited, I cannot even tell you. I grinded with him on the smokin dance floor to "Ohh boy you looking liek you like what you see..." It was seriosuly the best night ever. Thank you, Session 73!!! (I also saw Tony Danza there). One minor knock -- some girl was administering an hj in the corner... but whatev.
Food, booze, pop and rock--Upper East Side cats can get their groove on without a taxi ride. – In Short Amid the onslaught of sports bars in the East 70s, a live-music venue is a rarity. At snazzy-yet-casual Session 73, lights hang from long chords over the copper-topped bar. Patrons settle into velvet banquettes, order snacks from the bar menu and occasionally catch a glimpse of local sports heroes and "Saturday Night Live" cast members, but the focus here is on the nonstop nightly lineup of live pop and rock.
Perfect Venue for Private Party – I hosted a birthday party in Session 73's private party room last Saturday night and I have nothing but rave reviews. The staff was very attentive and professional. They served a variation of delicious hors d'eouvres and the drinks were quality. I highly recommend this venue for a private party...impressive room, staff, food and drinks!
Popped collars a must – Lots of men, all wearing navy sport coats. Seems to be a "regular" crowd, we knew no one but had lots of fun dancing anyway. Music ranged from Naughty by Nature to The Beastie Boys to beach music--very interesting to say the least. Drinks were decently priced! Very much an UES crowd w/ lots of cash flow! Would probably go back again if in the neighborhood. FUN!
good time for all – from the no cover charge anytime policy to the food, to the great staff, to the music you can't wrong here, previous reveiew are old, go back and get a new look, new manager has done much to improve the place and the weekend crowd is loaded with plenty of people. outdoor eating too when the weather permits so enjoys the fall and catch the saturday performances of the Characters for a roaring good time.
The Place To Be – Good music, hot women, the food was great. It's a place were you can call your own. You can actually go home with money in your pocket. What was really nice was the fact that you did'nt have to yell to whom ever your with. Two thumbs up guy's you nailed it.
