If you like great service, SERPAS is NOT the PLACE – Serpas was randomly selected b/of all the hype, however, I was extremely dissappointed. I dine out quite a bit and was disgusted that our party of 10 had to wait almost 30 mins for a waitress to appear AFTER being seated. After taking our drink orders, we had to inquire multiple times as to when our drinks will come...finally, the manager took our orders again and brought over our drinks. The dinner order was the same experience. My assumption is that since they include a ... read more

Good Food, Great Drinks, and Awesome Atmosphere – I recently went to Serpas for dinner with two of my friends. I chose it because of it's recent review in GQ magazine. The restaurant itself is gorgeous - I love the interior decor and the beautiful stone wall. We were about 20 minutes late to our reservation but they sat us down right away. It took a little while to get our waitress over to the table but after she took our drink orders, she was extremely attentive and friendly. We were really indecisive about what we wanted t... read more

Fantastic new Atlanta Restaurant – While home for Thanksgiving my family was excited to share their new restaurant find: Serpas True Food. We had a fantastic meal. 3 of us shared the house salad with blistered grapes (my first time eating a yummy blistered grape), pecans, cheese and a tangy dressing and the mushroom/brie flatbread to start. I had the scallops and they were perfectly prepared and the sauce has a great spicy tang that wasn't overwhelming. My folks had the maui-maui and both raved about it. The fried Apple Pie ... read more

Nice comfort food – Serpas was good. Neither of us were oyster fans so we did not try the flash-fried oysters everyone raves about here. We did have the tuna and shrimp rolls and they were fabulous. The beet salad was okay. My friend's scallops were very good in a curry sauce and I had the braised beef with celery root. Both excellent. The braised beef was extremely tender and certainly comfort food. The sun coming through the glass in the afternoon was a bit harsh for dining. A see-through type pull down screen to keep the ... read more

Truly good food – The food is good, unique dishes, but not amaizing. The atmosphere is loft, urban, minimalist. The service is good too. Great choice if in the neighborhood, casual yet hip. Good for social crowds.

Fried Oysters From Heaven! – If we only came to Serpas for their flash-fried oysters and drinks, we would be in heaven. We've been long time fans of Scott Serpas, and what a joy, he now has his own restaurant. We love the space in the Studio-Plex on Aurburn Ave. In fact, the whole area is hot. No this is not Cajun/Creole, but just Louisiana inspired, from Scott's time there. Along with the oysters for starters, we had the crispy duck egg rolls w/juicy duck, flavored with Five-Spice seasoning ,over chili oil. And then onto a w... read more

The culinary mind behind the wildly popular Two Urban Licks, Scott Serpas left the modern Atlanta institution to craft his namesake a few 'hoods away. – In Short Lodged in the Old Fourth Ward, Serpas True Food is like Two Urban Licks with a little bit brighter decor and a menu built for a post-dinner snooze. Neon boldly flanks theentrance of Auburn Avenue's Studioplex lofts and a full-scale wall of glass overlooks a stunning view of the Atlanta skyline. To add some warmth, an adjacent brick wall, railroad trestles and a cust... read more
