NO PAIN MEDS PRESCRIBED! I received a steroid epidural for a herniated lumbar disc, and I asked the doctor if he would prescribe pain meds. He said no, so I assumed the procedure would leave me feeling better than I did coming in. In the hours following the procedure, I was left writhing in horrific pain and ultimately could not get up from my bed to use the restroom, and was forced to urinate on myself. Extraordinarily shady. Definitely look into any alternative options before agreeing to have a procedure done at Sequoia.
Had my hip replaced at the surgery center and wow what a kind, competent and attentive staff! There’s no being rushed, they explain everything they are doing and answer any and all questions. Many thanks to Melonie, Kim, Mike, Julia, Megan and everyone else that assisted with prep, surgery and recovery! And of course Dr Toma. Highly recommend!
I had my first experience at Sequoia Surgical Pavillion in Walnut Creek this morning. I was anxious and a bit nervous until I hit the front desk and was warmly greeted by sweet and lovely Kylie. She immediately put me at ease. Then it was on to the incredibly professional and compassionate nursing staff who gave me heated blankets with an additional heater on hand as they could see I was chilly. I was here on an incredibly busy day. As I waited my turn I saw gurney after gurney heading to the OR. Staff always met me with a smile and was available to help me. Preop and postoperative staff were all awesome. I felt my safety and comfort was a priority to them. My experience was 5+.
