Dawn, the occupational therapist, was a great help to my husband. She spoke loudly because his hearing aids stopped working. He looked forward to seeing her each day. He had an attitude at times and she would straighten him right out in a kind and good way.
Select Specialty Hospital met our needs. Staff were professional and knowledgeable! We especially are thankful for Jess PT. She was a cheerleader for my husband and gave him the ambition to get well. It’s been a long journey and she brightened his days.
Select Specialties has been amazing! The care they have given my husband has been phenomenal. Got him off the trach and talking. Started the PT/OT. If we had any issues they were immediately addressed. The staff here are caring, compassionate, empathetic and all around wonderful people. I couldn’t have selected a better facility for my husband as his next step. We have been here a little over 2 weeks and are now moving to rehab. We will miss everyone at Select and thank them for all they have done for us!
Our family’s experience at Select Specialty in York was nothing short of appalling. Walking into the unit on the 5th floor was like walking into a wall of urine stench — and sadly, that smell was a perfect preview of the “care” our loved one received. Every single day, the patient was left lying in their own bodily fluids for extended periods of time, sometimes up to an hour. Not once — daily. No human being should ever be treated that way.
