It took me time to write this and calm so I'm not writing in grief and anger. I am writing to make a formal complaint against the services rendered at Select Specialty Hospital - Belhaven against the staff and to protest a grave injustice. My complaint is that doctors failed to provide satisfactory service with their patient who was showing remarkable resilience after spending time in the ICU. Mrs. Kim, Speech Therapist, was Mallory’s biggest cheerleader while she was a patient at Belhaven Select Specialty Hospital. She provided a variety of speech techniques to practice which helped strengthen Mallory’s throat muscles. We love and appreciate Mrs. Kim for helping Mallory develop the ability to swallow again.
My mom was transferred from a rural Delta hospital to a hospital in Jackson after she was diagnosed as having CDiff. We were at a hospital in Jackson until her white blood cell count was normal. At that point my mother was not well enough to go home. She was very weak and unable to sit up or stand. We were referred to Select. The therapists, nurses and doctors were kind and smart. Everything was great!!
This place needs new management. Hospital care is more about money instead of taking care of the patients. Poor care is all I can say.
