Worst place ever! My husband was in this facility, and I have never experienced such awful care in my life! Calls for the nurses went unanswered for up to 45 minutes to the point where patients were yelling into the halls "Help me!" I saw friends and families in the hallways doing the same thing, trying to get the nurses' attention. I saw one nurse connect an IV containing his food and spill some of the contents onto the floor and neglect cleaning it up. Select Specialty Hospital in Carrollton Texas tried to kill my step dad. He was in their care from 2/22 until 3/26. We had to pull him via 911. He was being treated for oxygen therapy after fighting covid pneumonia. He was covid and pneumonia free when he got admitted into select specialty. They never wanted to help him out of bed, gave him attitude when he did ask for help. Zero would be more accurate. Nurses fabricate stories, mix up patients and situations frequently. No communication with doctors. They prescribe anti psychotics without a staff psychiatrist chemically sedating patients to the point of drooling unresponsiveness. Worst facility ever, filed numerous state and federal complaints based on our experiences
Do not use this facility. I pointed out two troublesome things that were infections and my husband also had a fever. They moved him to another floor to "more closely monitor" him. 1 nurse for 8 people, and she was hard to find, as were the aides. The doctor said his fever and infections were nothing to worry about. My husband was a complex medical case. He had a doctor appointment two days after my questions, and was sent to ER and put in ICU. This facility is not good if you want recovery.
2 of 2 - When we asked to speak with him we were told he doesn't call the families, there is no number to get ahold of him and they don't know his schedule he just comes in when he can. When we had to use the restroom during visits they said if we left the room we couldn't come back and that we had to go before or after the visit. 1 of 2 - I'm writing this review under my husbands account. My name is Vanessa. If I could give zero stars I would. This facility is the worst place EVER! I would NEVER recommend sending anyone there (even my worst enemy.) We had no choice to put my father there since it's the only LTAC that accepts patients on a ventilator with a trach. Within the first 3 hours he fell out of the bed because they stuck him in a room and left him. This was followed by a stroke 8 days later then seizures. Zero stars would be more accurate. Do not ever use this hospital if you have any choice in the matter. My husband was there to recover after a motorcycle accident. Sometimes I wondered about their cleanliness practices with the patients. My husband was improving until he then developed colitis. In all fairness, this happens. However, soon this quickly turned to C-diff, then septic shock, renal failure and much more. After growing progressively worse ALL day long his body was literally shutting down.
