We did a lot of research before selecting this LTACH hospital. We ended up transferring a family member after being here for a week. The doctors and therapists were very good. But the amount of Therapy that we received in a week time frame was very minimum. Majority of all the NURSES were TERRIBLE. Would NOT NOT put my family member here again, even though I was comfortable with the doctors from Methodist. The level of care here was terrible. Overall, VERY BAD EXPERIENCE.

Relatively new location in med center is clean, well laid out, and roomy. Staff is very caring and professional. Care is so much better and more timely than Cornerstone Hospital (EXACT opposite). We had to get our dad out of Cornerstone and Select Specialty has been a god send. I'm not sure why the others had negative comments (maybe older comments?) but this is the care you should expect and deserve for your loved ones.

Unfortunately I've had to deal with my brother's situation from Denver. After he was released from Ben Taub he went to Select Specialty for rehab. I have not had one call from anyone on staff there (he's been there since March 4). Had I not called, I would not have known my brother was to be released and required to go to a skilled nursing facility within a week. That's not much time to select a place. This place is amazing. All the team members coordinate their care with each other to provide exceptional care. Everybody here care for their patients and any concerns are taking care of ASAP. Amazing views and clean hospital.
