dont listen to the nay sayers – I dont know what the fuss about the service is?! I go to sekisui at least once a week and just went for the New Years buffet they had. They have some great original rolls one of my absolute favorite being the quagmire. Some people frown upon theses Americanized rolls but I rather enjoy the mix. The best sushi place in Chattanooga – Best sushi we have found in Chattanooga. We often order the chirashi and a dolphin roll, which gets you soup, salad, a nice variety of sashimi for about 30 bucks total. LOTS of other things to try, too. The horrible taste is still in my mouth months later! – We visited Sekisui after purchasing the '25 dollar coupon' for ten dollars, on a night that was supposed to be a relaxing date evening between me and my boyfriend. Do not waste your time or money. – Bad food, worse service. Truly one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I cannot figure out why people go there. Anyone who tells me they like this place looses all credibility in matters of cuisine to me.
To be avoided like the Plague! – My wife and I went for lunch, and this was the worst excuse for a sushi restaurant that I have ever endured. The entire experience was third rate, at best! It was like an amatuer effort at Japanese dining! Sorry, but the best that Sekisui has to offer Chattanooga, is to turn off the lights and close the doors...Permanently!
The Horrible Service – They do not have the concept of lunch hour It took 2 hours to finish lunch The restaurant is filled with unprofessional workers. They have only 4 forks for 9 people. One of my co-workers started eating only rice with a chopstick for a long time because the main food came out after 20 to 30 minutes went by. Never again!! Small plates, minced meat in sushi. – I was disappointed with both the service and quality of the food when my beau and I dined here for lunch. Our server refused to allow time to peruse the menu- or offer any help in our selections. I had Teriyaki Salmon, 'minced meat' Spicy Tuna Roll and Miso soup. Great Japanese Dining Experience – We decided to try Sekisui because of the favorable comments from 'vandygirl.' We went on a Saturday night and were seated immediately. The service was outstanding. We were impressed with the menu choices and very reasonable prices. Our meal was wonderful and reminded us of our days in Japan. At the next opportunity we also definitely plan to go back to Sekisui. Every City Needs One – This place is amazing! We went on a Friday night but were seated immediately. The ambiance is modern yet gives you the "international" feeling with touches of Japanese style. The menu is FULL of choices for all tastes, vegetarians included! You can pick 4 small dishes or one large platter and you'll walk out with money still in your wallet.
