Before the property changed ownership, my unit suffered water damage and flooding that were not treated as emergencies, resulting in unacceptable delays and preventable damage. The parking garage has also flooded multiple times, creating unsafe conditions for residents and their vehicles. After new management took over in 2024, the situation deteriorated even further. So far so good. After reading reviews, it seems that past renters had a bad time with the management change, but it has been good since I moved in. Patrick is always available and responsive. It is in a perfect North Loop location. Extremely high ceilings and large windows. While amenities are lacking, you save in rent (I would rather go to a real gym anyways). Would recommend to check it out.
My son and I absolutely LOVE living at 2nd St Lofts! Patrick, the onsite property manager, is absolutely a pleasure to work with. He has a warm, vibrant, and genuine personality and guided us through the application process and the move in, literally step by step. Since the new ownership took over, I'm not convinced anyone actually manages this building. Incredibly disappointing treatment of long-term residents. Follow up— I moved out, and after admitting to me that they mis-billed me for hundreds of dollars in gas charges, they're ghosting me. New ownership is an absolute scam, don't move here.
I lived in this building for 3.5 years and the first 3 were amazing! But after new management took over it became a nightmare. They will not respond to any emails or help you with anything. My lease ended and I tried getting in touch with them to resign and they never sent a new lease so I was just paying month to month. Things got so bad that I wanted to move out and they told me I had to give “2 months notice” even though I technically didn’t even have a lease.
