Superb food. Outstanding service. We felt welcomed.
This weekend was a Chridtmas gift from my older brother to my fiancée and I. We enjoyed every bite from first course to desset. Tried Escargot for the first time. Delicious!!! Reccomend to anyone. Our waitress Miranda was amazing!

The Second Empire is second to none in Raleigh for its service and cuisine. A must do or even a must regular when in Raleigh.
After hearing & reading so many positive things we were looking forward to our reservation. We arrived 4 minutes prior to our reservation time and were promptly told that we wouldn't be seated until the exact time of the reservation- seriously! We were seated 12 minutes later...asked 3 times for black napkins and didn't receive our wine until 2/3's of the way through our cheese plate. I made reservations for our 17th year anniversary at a restaurant. Ended facing a brick wall in a dungeon type area / tavern. Host were to blame, as they had no idea what was going on with reservations via openbook.
