First, to be clear, I rate service tech Jonathan 5 stars. He examined and within minutes isolated the problem. He took time to explain that the thermal cut-off fuse tripped and why this can happen. He answered all my questions very clearly. This fuse cannot be reset, it must be replaced. The $120 evaluation fee Sears charges is reasonable and I don't mind paying that. Technician fixed our dryer. We have a Home warranty policy that covered the repair plus paid a deductible.
AI is the only option for scheduling. Went thru the prompts and scheduled a service call but no one showed or called to reschedule. Tried calling again but couldn’t bypass the AI system.
This was 100% a bait and switch, for Sears to make $200. Run from this! They said service call would be discounted by 50% if i buy a home warranty, so i did. Upon arrival the tech says the only way to fix this design flaw is to replace the entire freezer door. They wanted $1069 for the door plus $369 labor to fix a refrigerator that’s $1500 on the showroom floor all day.
