I am a 90 year old male who has been suffering from severe left hip and left thigh pain that I rate 8 on a scale of 1-10 for more than two weeks. My second visit to the ER at Scripps Memorial La Jolla was on July 2 when, luckily, I was seen by another provider, Dr. Danny Lee Bamber, who prescribed topical Lydocaine patches and oral Ibuprofen. These medications are marginally helpful. I have a visit with an orthopedic surgeon on July 8. I am hoping I will have clear diagnosis and a cure for my intractable pain.

For this I went to the Scripps Memorial La Jolla ER on June 23, where they x-rayed me to rule out a fracture. I didn’t have a fracture. No further tests were done, nor were they any consultations with an orthopedist. They discharged me without even offering an OTC painkiller like Tylenol.
