Of course going to the hospital is never a great thing but this hospital is the best hospital I've ever been to. It just seems that every single person I interacted with cared, was attentive and really tried to make the best situation for me. Particularly the nursing staff and the floor staff, everybody was just so nice. I was hospitalized for 7 days which was pretty horrible but the experience of being at Scripps made a huge difference.

This hospital has a wonderful energy about it. The doctors, nursing staff and patient caregivers are all kind, compassionate, and caring. They help each other, working as a team to give the best care possible. They listen to their patients needs and are attentive to meeting them. They create a positive healing environment. I recently was admitted from Scripps Emergency room in La Jolla, to the hospital for a 5 day stay. I was admitted for acute kidney failure, COPD exacerbation, respiratory insufficiency, and a few others. From the time I entered their emergency room and was admitted to the hospital, I can honestly say I was very pleased with all the care I received from the Doctors to all the other staff. I honestly never want to find myself having to be anywhere near a hospital - that said, I’m totally elated and over the moon about the care and the staff here. The Trauma team department and the aftercare team care that we are receiving is the BEST. From the amazing nurses, doctors, case and social workers - the facility is a 10 out of 5. Honestly my experience there was terrible. The only good thing about this hospital is the building itself and some of the staff were pretty nice but aside from that the food is terrible, the pills that prescribe are even worse and both times i went, they took my blood and then discharged me. They didn't help me at all like i wanted to recover and they just have doctors that do not give respect and value to your privacy or recover as a patient so ya the stars go to the building and CNA
