Just the place to walk in and grab a truly top shelf grilled cheese deluxe. Seriously. Unpretentious; Solid good food. Skip the line at Nitro when in Newport.
Scratch Kitchen on Broadway is where we go when visiting Newport at the end of August. Friendly service, a great variety of sandwiches, soups, salads and cookies. The food is absolutely delicious! We got their Turkey Day wraps in 2024 for the train ride back to NYC, and enjoyed them so much we got them again last year and this morning. The steak, eggs and cheese on sourdough bread was a perfect breakfast treat on the Block Island Ferry. A lovely restaurant which offers great coffee and breakfast burritos. I have dined here twice and have loved the cozy atmosphere, warm service and their spicy chicken burrito. Highly recommend!
Tastiest and best budget food in Newport hands-down. Servers are kind and quick to address you. Food is super tasty and very pocket friendly.
