Dr. Hval is competent, realtively low cost and pleasant. His staff is very nice. He can be a little gruff, but for a dentist he's OK.
Dr. Hval has poor bedside manner. He and his assistant talk about inappropriate things while he works. He once chastised me for jerking when he gave me more anasthetic, but he had not warned me that he was going to inject it into my front lower gum. He is fairly abrupt and impersonal. The front office staff is very nice. I had 14 unexpected cavities and he was not helpful in figuring out what had happened. I have moved and will be changing dentists.
I have gone to Dr Scott Hval for many years and he does excellent work. Before that I went to his dad, Dr Gary Hval. I have never had problems with either of their work and would highly recommend Scott. He always recommends a cost effective solution. His office staff is also very nice and will work with everyone to accomodate.
I've been going to him for many years and while he and his assistant are pleasant and helpful, his front office help has ALWAYS been snarky. They talk poorly about people when they leave...trying to keep their voices down, but it echos in there so you hear everything they say. I'm not sure if theres ever been a time I've been there that I haven't overheard something. They use to have a wait ti get in, but it seems not much of one anymore. The Dr. is good and his assistant makes the visit worth while. All of his staff seems very nice.
dentist is ok, his staff has problems with billing issues and its quite difficult to get an appointment, ie; a couple months
