I had the absolute displeasure of having Schroeder as my neurosurgeon. He waited until I had to be rushed into the operating room to do my life saving operation but my operation did not go well oh no the result of his surgery had me left sided paralyzed. With all of that he had us drive via ambulance to his office from 2 hours away to remove stitches when I was already in patient in rehab. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO Schroeder he is very arrogant and he has NO bedside matter WHATS SO EVER

Had L4, L5 and S1 surgery. Saved my Life from living in constant pain and not being able to walk.

This doctor does not communicate. He fails to answer questions on his portal. He does not tell you what to expect from his surgery. If you have issues, you are on your own. Find someone else to do your procedure. You will regret using this doctor.

TERRIBLE after surgery experience! If I could, I would give ZERO stars! Schroeder sent my dad home ( 3 hour ride) after surgery and told us he should be up and walking. Next day, My dad couldn’t get up much less walk! We tried to help him (he’s a big man) but he could not use his legs. Had to call paramedics to get him up off the floor! Schroeder was “unavailable” to speak with us (because it was a holiday weekend ??) so his “fill-in” (Dr. Rivero) told us to bring my dad back to Tucson. Kurt Schroader did a lamanectomy on me in 1996, released me for full duty and I was reinjured . I smashed L4-L5 down onto L3-L4 and crushed the S1 nerve root. I complained for over ten years and was told by Schroader that I was fine, not one mention of my collapsed disks in any of his reports. I finally found out he was being paid by my employers "Pima County" to do SMEs (special medical evaluations) against employees for Risk Management cases. Did nothing for my daughter after waiting to see him for over 2 months. Very dismissive and arrogant. If I could give 0 stars I would. 2 MRI’s were given to him to review and he said they couldn’t be read, told my daughter she must be claustrophobic and moved during the MRI. Said radiologist who read it was incompetent. All he did was order 2 more MRI’s, did not help with her pain, which is severe. She left using her cane hobbling and crying. He was awful to her. Go to someone who cares.

Assigned to our elderly parent in the ER. Tried to make us feel guilty for her poor state and made us feel stupid about our questions. He explained that the parent had a minor fracture on one side of the vertebrae. On follow up visit he denied he ever said it was minor and a neck brace would be necessary for an even longer time. Very tough to get a 2nd opinion from a NS we trust. Finally one of his own associates looked at the CT and said the brace should’ve been removed long ago. Arrogant!

Dr Schroeder is the most arrogant and cruel doctor I have ever met. His answer for every question was demeaning and rude. He felt it necessary to lecture me at every opportunity on how stupid and uninformed my questions were. His office staff was fine.
