People who love iris and fresh air must visit Schreiner's gardens and drive around their large fields of blooming iris on their visit. Check with Schreiner's for peek bloom and time your trip accordingly. You will not be disappointed.
The bulbs are big and high quality
As a 10 yr old boy I watched my grandparents delight in their Iris garden and how much pride they took during bloom season to have all the family members over on Sunday morning to cook breakfast over an open fire place and walk the garden and soak up the fresh smell of thousands of iris blooms of many colors. RecommendedMy grandmother and mother both ordered from Schreiner's, so I've lived with Schreiner's iris my entire life (68 years!). I have never received an iris that was not in excellent form when it arrived, and have always enjoyed watching them bloom!
May is the month to go, and it was well worth the drive. How did I not know about this gorgeous little gem sooner? The display garden is incredible. I want to make this an annual outing. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy it on on of the many benches.
The rhizomes are always large and healthy when you receive them. Almost all the Iris bloom the following spring. The staff are very friendly. I have ordered from them for several years and will continue to order from them. If you have the opportunity to go see their show gardens you will not be disappointed...they are beautiful!
